Raymond Lyle Bignell, was reunited with Jeanne in heaven on March 17, 2026.
Ray was born on July 18, 1946, in Plum City, Wisconsin to Lyle and Lucille Bignell.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanne, brother and best friend, Bruce LaPean; siblings, Elaine, Donald, Glen, Phil, and Arlen; foster daughter, Cindy; and son-in-law, Tony.
Survived by his children, Raquel Bruner and Jerry (Linda); grandchildren, Danyelle, Gage (Ashlyn), Dane, Thaddeus (Julia), Jake (Gabriella), and Brent (Brea); 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Violet, David (Rosy), Christine, Goldyne (Mike), Corky, Sandy, and Janet; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ray worked for H.D. Hudson Co. for over 40 years until his retirement. One of his pastimes was playing cribbage or any type of card game. Ray was an avid deer and squirrel hunter. He was the pitman for the car 54 team at demolition derbies. Ray enjoyed going out to eat and food, especially potatoes of any kind. Most knew him as a simple man of few words. Ray loved spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Ray’s Life will be held at a later date.
