Ramon J. Hernandez

Ramon J. Hernandez, age 90 of Hastings, died peacefully at Oak Ridge Assisted Living in Hastings on Thursday evening, February 10, 2022. Ramon Juan, the son of Ezekiel and Alvina (Patino) Hernandez, was born on August 29, 1931, in Laredo, Texas. Following his education, Ramon enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War prior to being Honorably Discharged. He then began working at Gould Battery, later Electrolux in Tenessee, and eventually retired from Seagate Technology in Edina. In 1995, Ramon was united in marriage to Harriet Moore. He enjoyed going to casinos, feeding the birds, and being in nature. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his two brothers. Ramon is survived by his wife, Harriet; children, Elizabeth Walker, Ramon Hernandez Jr., Juan (Julie) Hernandez, Lupe (Robert) Thompson, and Ezekiel Hernandez; six step children; twelve grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild on the way; and by other relatives and friends. In keeping with Ramon's wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. Private family interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
