Peter Stephen Kane

Peter “Pete” Kane, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 25, 2025. He was born to Paul “Doors” and Margaret “Margie” on January 17, 1970. Pete grew up in Hastings, and graduated from Hastings High School, class of 1988, where he was the team’s football defensive player of the year. He perfected his culinary skills in his youth at the Bierstube in Hastings and later in life worked in construction. Pete loved fishing, hunting, disassembling machinery, and betting on horse races where he almost always won. His favorite place was the family cabin on Yellow Lake in Webster, WI. Pete was one of a kind with a big heart. He had a quick wit and delivered the best one-liners.

Pete is preceded in death by his father, “Doors” and nephew, Ricky Berg. He is survived by mother, Margie; siblings, Kelly (Mike) Kelly, Tom (Lisa Otto), Katie (Chris) Rieder, and Jenny (Matt Werner); uncle to, Abbie, Molly, Ellie, Alex, Will, Alivia, Clare, Brooklyn, Reese, Donny, Dax, Cash, Pauly; his beloved dog, Waggs; and many other relatives and friends.

Pete was especially loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00AM at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with visitation two hour prior to Mass. Reception will be held following Mass at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel. Interment will be in Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00AM. Arrangements are with Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel.
