Paul J. Shannon

Paul Shannon, age 77, of Hastings, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in his home at Park Ridge of Hastings.Paul was born in Red Wing, MN on April 25, 1940, to William James and Frances (Reinardy) Shannon. He was a graduate of Menomonie, WI schools. He was employed over the years for Rock Island Railroad as a clerk and later for South Washington County Schools as a custodian. He was a former member of the Lions Club and was a Knights of Columbus member. He loved to fish and greatly enjoyed being with his family.He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers William, John Francis. He is survived by his siblings, Mary Ardis Ames of Amery, WI, Thomas J. (Margaret) Shannon of Hastings, Joyce (Joe) Kettner of Menomonie, WI, and Peggy (Rudy) Anderson of Carson, CA.; his sister-in-law Barbara Shannon of Menomonie, WI.; and by several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings, MN. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral at church. Interment will be later at Clayfield Cemetery, near Ellsworth, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.Arrangements are being completed by Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings.
