Paul A. Lunde

Paul Lunde, age 82, of Hastings, died peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his home. Paul Albert, the son of Albert and Florence (Gregor) Lunde, was born on February 21, 1932 in Goodhue County, Minnesota. He attended Cannon Falls High School and graduated with the class of 1950. Paul enlisted in the United States Army and later received an honorable discharge. He then began his career at Con Agra where he was a machinery mechanic for thirty years. On November 24, 1978, Paul was united in marriage to Bonnie Sommerfield in Hastings. Paul enjoyed playing volleyball and softball in his younger years, as well as bowling, hunting and fishing throughout his life. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Hastings, VFW in Cottage Grove, and the American Legion in Mazeppa. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Gregor Lunde, and by his first wife Mae Lunde. Paul is survived by his wife Bonnie; children, Linda Toombs, Donald Blanck II, Louis (Deb) Blanck, Amy (Hans) Haines, Patsy (Karen) Lunde, Joseph (Deb) Lunde, Christine (Scott) Brown; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; his brother Charles (Karen) Lunde; and by many other relatives and friends. The Funeral Service, officiated by Gordon Gathright will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East Seventh St, Hastings. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Interment with Military Honors will be held at the United Lutheran Cemetery in Zumbrota.
