Patricia "Pat" A. (Meyers) Mcnamara

Patricia A. "Pat" McNamara, age 82 of Hastings, died suddenly but peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Regina Medical Center in Hastings. Patricia Ann, the daughter of Theodore and Margaret (Fox) Meyers, was born on September 7, 1938, in Hastings. Following her graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1956, Pat was united in marriage to Gerald M. McNamara on September 5, 1959. Within a year of their marriage, they started their family and were blessed with five children. Pat continued to be a homemaker who was absolutely dedicated to caring for her children until they were old enough to attend school. She then worked in a dental office for many years where she made many friendships. From Mexico to Lake Havasu, and many other places around the United States, she and Jerry enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends over the years. Whether it was her appearance or her home decor, Pat was a very classy and elegant lady. No matter the situation, she was an encourager who provided support in words and actions. In her later years, Pat enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds in her back yard, volunteering at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and Regina Auxiliary, and talking with her friends. She also enjoyed reading, tending to her flower gardens, and spending time with her family. Pat will forever be remembered for her generosity to the community and the love she had for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; daughter, Becky; brother, Clem Meyers; brothers-in-law, Mike McNamara, Alan McNamara, and Ray (Jan) McNamara; and by her mother and father-in-law, R.T. and Margaret McNamara. Pat is survived by her children, Brian, Mitch (Jamie), Lisa, and Kelly; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Mitchell, Julie, Matthew, Nicole, Jenna, and Erin; brother, Herm (Marlene) Meyers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Karen Meyers, Marty (Mary) McNamara, Gretchen McNamara, Barb McNamara; dear friend and "sister from another mother", Mary Agnes Rohr; and by many other relatives and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2021, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Father Bill Murtaugh officiating. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Cemetery. Masks and social distancing will be required to ensure everyones safety. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon at the funeral home. Pat's family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers Tracy and Amanda for the love and care they've shown Pat. In lieu of flowers, Pat's family requests memorials be made to Hastings Family Service in her memory. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
