Patricia M. Schmid

Patricia M. Schmid, age 83 of Hastings passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 26, 2012. Patricia was born June 13, 1929 in Springfield, MN to Frank and Freida (Altman) Green. She was a graduate of Springfield High School and received her nurses training at St. Mary�s Hospitalin Rochester. Patricia married Jim Schmid on May 7, 1955 in Springfield. She worked 29 years as an OB nurse at Regina Medical Center prior to her retirement in 1991. Patricia enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son-in-law Ron Pettit. Patricia is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jim; children Geri (Steve) Nelson, Kathy Pettit, Mary (Kevin) Myers, Janny Schmid, and Pam (Todd) Kasel; also 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brother Jim Green and sisters Connie Borak and Arlene Vogel. The Memorial Mass, officiated by Fr. James Perkl and Fr. Robert Altier will be held 11 AM Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. Fifteenth St., Hastings with visitation held two hours prior to service at church. Interment will follow in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred.
