Patricia Ann Serres

Patricia "Pat" A. Serres, age 90 of Hastings, died peacefully at Hastings Senior Living on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Patricia Ann, the daughter of Peter and Gertrude (Dummer) Leifeld, was born on May 3, 1931, in Beloit, Wisconsin. As a young child, her family moved to Hastings where she attended Guardian Angels Grade School and graduated from Hastings High School with the class 1949. In 1950, she married Donald "Don" Serres. Pat worked for 3M for many years and loved driving forklift, she eventually retired after numerous years of employment. She enjoyed dancing with Don, gambling, bowling, smoking her cigs, and was an avid card player. Patricia loved to sing and always had a good time doing it. She was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier. Pat also loved taking the many trips to Vegas with her girls over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; siblings, Bernice Otto, Genevieve Wahlstrom, Leonard Leifeld, Loretta VanGundy, Lucille Nogle, Theresa Leifeld, and Marcella Gabbert; nephew, Bobby Wahlstrom Jr.; niece, Kathy Wahlstrom Kelly; and her great nephew, Erik Swanson. Pat is survived by her children, Carole "Snooky" (Jim) Lindberg, Kathy (Rick) Reamer, Alan Serres (Jill Huggins), and Mike Serres; grandchildren, Scott Reamer, Daniel Reamer, Kristi Serres, Don Serres, and Katie Serres; great grandchildren, Blake Reamer, Charlie Reamer, Delaney Kullman, and Daphne Pugh; brothers-in-law, Allen VanGundy and Bob Gabbert; and by many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation for two hours prior to the Mass, and to a reception immediately following the graveside services, all at church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice in memory of Pat. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
