Patra Jane Bye

Patra J. Bye, age 87, of Hastings, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the Cerenity Care Center in South St. Paul. Patra was born August 27, 1921 in Prescott, WI to Walter and Constance (Norseng) Walbridge. She had attended St. Olaf College and was formerly employed at First Insurance at the First National Bank in Hastings. She married Richard A. Bye in Hastings in 1942. Patra was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, daughter Diane, and great-great-grandson Damien. She is survived by her daughter Sondra Kasel of Inver Grove Heights; 5 grandchildren John Kasel, Jennifer Hernlem, Amy McGibbon, David Smith, and Stephanie Spafford; also 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service, officiated by The Rev. Connie Claxton will be held at the CATURIA-SMIDT FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. 7th St., Hastings on Monday, October 6th at 1:00 P.M. with a visitation 2 hours prior to the service. The pallbearers are John Kasel, David Smith, Darin Hernlem, Robert McGibbon, John Spafford, and Chase Kasel. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
