Pamela "Pam" Peine

Pamela "Pam" (Schweich) Peine, age 53 of New Trier, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family following a fifteen-month battle with cancer on Tuesday afternoon, October 23, 2018. Pam was blessed with the love and support of many family members, friends, and neighbors during her courageous journey with cancer. Pamela Jean, the youngest child of Ralph and Mary "Katy" (Serres) Schweich, was born on January 30, 1965 in Cannon Falls. Following her graduation from Hastings High School with the class of 1983, Pam was united in marriage to Harold "Nick" Peine at St. Marys Catholic Church in New Trier in 1985, and they were blessed with two sons, Aaron and Josh. Pam enjoyed spending time in her garden, tending to her flowers, riding her Kubota lawn tractor, and spoiling her kittens and dog, Demon. She will always be remembered for her dedicated love to her husband and sons, her selfless acts of kindness, and loyalty to her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pam is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Nick of New Trier; two sons, Aaron (Ellie) Peine and Josh (Rachel) Peine; siblings, David (Sandy) Schweich, Stephen (Yong Ae) Schweich, Ann (Keith) Gesme, Mary Schweich, Joe (Vicki) Schweich, and Kathleen (Luis) Lopez; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday morning, October 26, 2018, at St. Marys Catholic Church in New Trier, with Father Terry Beeson officiating. Interment will be held at the parish cemetery, and a reception will follow at the church. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening and also from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Friday morning, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, Pams family requests memorials be given to the donors choice in her memory. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings.
