Orrin J. Bakke

Orrin J. Bakke, age 74 of Hastings, died peacefully on Sunday morning, February 5, 2017, at Augustana Care of Hastings following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister-in-law, Audrey Bakke and by his brother-in-law, Mike Reardon. Orrin is survived by his wife, Fran; his children, Ann (David) Brattain and their children, Nick and Theo, Chris Bakke and his daughter, Brandi Larson, and Kate (Gary) Giel and their children, Julia, Marshall, and baby Giel due in July; his siblings, Jerome Bakke, Lois Reardon, and Florence (Roger) Syvertsen; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Hastings, with Reverend Doug Duin officiating. Military Honors provided by the Hastings VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210 will follow the service at church. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held at church on Monday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to your favorite animal rescue center in memory of Orrin.Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services of Hastings.
