Novie Place, age 92 of Hastings, died peacefully on Friday evening, September 13, 2019, at Regina Senior Living in Hastings. Novie Carter, the daughter of William and Rosie (Lewis) Carter, was born on December 31, 1926, in Redwater, Texas. Following her education, Novie was united in marriage to Eldon Place on May 3, 1947, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She also enjoyed spending time with the neighbors, going for dinner, and just getting out of the house. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon; brother, Bill Carter; and by her two grandchildren, Matthew and Joy. Novie is survived by her children, Bev (Robert) Geiken, Ronald "Barry" (Judy) Place, Doug Place, and Terry Place; ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; brother, Fred Carter; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Hastings, with Reverend Lloyd Menke officiating. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be held and interment will follow at Our Savior's Cemetery in Beldenville, Wisconsin.
