Norman B. Schmidt
age 88 of Minneapolis, born June 27, 1923 in Bovey, MN to Ben and Alvina Schmidt, passed away August 13, 2011. Norman actively served in the U.S.M.C. during WWII. He retired after teaching for many years in the Minneapolis Public Schools, and he was an active resident of Rose Arbor in Maple Grove. Norman is preceded in death by his wife, Rochelle. He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Lynn (Barton) Johnson; grandchildren, Jeremy & Lindsay and 4 nieces and nephews and their families. Special thanks to Valborg Tollefsrud for many years of great support. Funeral service 5:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 with visitation one hour before, at Minnehaha Communion Lutheran Church, 4101 37th Ave. So., Mpls. Private interment, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
