Norine "Peggy" Fuchs

Norine G. "Peggy" Fuchs, age 82 of Hastings, former owner/operator of Emilys Bakery died June 10, 2015 at her Hastings residence. Peggy was born November 19, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI to Elmer and Emily (Klapper) Walker. She moved at age 10 to West Virginia with her family, then returned to Stillwater, MN in 1944 and to Hastings in 1948. She married Eugene Fuchs on September 20, 1952 in Hastings, MN. She worked for Eddys Drug Store and later owned and operated Emilys Bakery with her husband Gene. She excelled in customer service and sales in both of those positions. Peggy enjoyed embroidery, reading and playing scrabble. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bob Walker. Peggy is survived by her husband Gene; eight children, Linda (Andy) Walton of Diamond Bar, CA, Susan (Walter) Riesen of Charlotteville, NY, John (Audrey) Fox of Victoria, MN, Norine Bishop of Hastings, Steve (Mary Ellen) Fox of Hastings, Bob Fuchs of St. Paul, Mike (Barb) Fuchs of Hastings and Peggy (Jeff) Kemp of White Bear Lake; also 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother William "Buzz" (Sharon) Walker of Hastings; sisters Joan (Don) Benning of Kenosha, WI, Pat (Don) Gard of Red Wing, and Bette (Tom) Swanson of Hastings; sister in law Rita Walker of Edina; also many other relatives and friends. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3-7 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East Seventh Street, Hastings. A private family Celebration of Peggys Life will be held at Wiederholts Supper Club on Thursday. Inurnment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings.
