Nancy Marie Feltes

Nancy Marie (Simacek) Feltes, 74, of Lakeville, MN, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2025. A beloved mother and grandmother, Nancy will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity.

Born on December 7, 1950, in Minneapolis, Nancy was the big sister to her three siblings, Jane, Billy, and Mike. She grew up in Richfield and lived most of her life in Minnesota. She spent her career in finance and retired as a controller. After retirement, she kept busy volunteering as a Reading Buddy at Cherry View Elementary School. She was also deeply engaged in faith activities at the Church of St. Michael, including Prayer Shawl Ministry, Faith Formation, Seven Sisters, and serving as a lector.

She loved family dinners, playing Scrabble with friends, and watching the Twins and Vikings. She was also an avid reader, and a book was never far from her side. Although she kept busy, she always made the small things a priority – she was the queen of handwritten thank-you notes, texts expressing gratitude, and voicemails of encouragement. She embodied gratefulness, and her life reflected her values.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Lisa Marie MacKenzie and Julie (Casey) Prestegard; her grandchildren Christian (fiancée, Brianna) Prestegard, Levi McNulty, and Matthew MacKenzie-Kenny; and her siblings Jane Levy, Billy Simacek, and Michael (Susie) Simacek. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Delores (Heckman) Simacek.

A service will be held at the Church of St. Michael in Farmington on Thursday, November 13, with visitation from 10 to 11 am, Mass at 11, and a luncheon afterward. In honor of her generous spirit, the family asks that donations be directed to St. Michael’s.
