Myrtle "Honey" Nelson

Myrtle Lois "Honey" Nelson, age 92, of Hastings died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at her home. She was born June 25, 1922 in Cannon Falls, MN to George and Lois (King) McKinley. She married Carl Nelson May 3, 1939 in Cannon Falls. Mr. Nelson died October 1, 2003. She also is preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Pam Backes , son-in-law Einer Theodorson, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors include her children JoAnn Theodorson, Roger (Audrey) Nelson, Allen (Sue) Nelson and Peggy Backes; grandchildren Allen Theodorson, Tammy (Tom) Sophy, Melanee Lee, Blaine (Nancy) Nelson, Dean Nelson, Caren (Jack) Davidge, Kirsten (Scott) Imrie, Lori (Jon) Anfinson, Amy (Steve) Holt, Beth (Jon) Kinneman, Lois (Clarence) Chapman, Jason (Darlene) Backes and Andrew Backes; 21 great grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; 2 sisters Helen Holst and Ferol Nadeau. Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th Street, Hastings with visitation from 9 -11 AM. Interment will be at the Corinthian Cemetery in Farmington, MN Pallbearers are Allen Theodorson, Blaine Nelson, Dean Nelson, Jason Backes, Andrew Backes and Clarence Chapman. Honorary pallbearwers are Tammy Sophy, Melanee Lee, Lois Chapman, Laurel Anfinson, Kirsten Imrie, Amy Holt, Beth Kinneman and Caren Davidge. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
