Myrtle A. Bakken

Myrtle A. Bakken, 96, of Minneapolis, MN died Thursday, January 9, 2012 at the home of her sister, Bernice Lundemo. Myrtle was born January 27, 1915 in Appleton, MN to Peter & Thea (Tofte) Bakken. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Myrtle attended Morris Ag. School and graduated in 1932. She worked for Honeywell from 1948 until she retired in 1978. Myrtle is preceded in death by parents, Peter & Thea; brothers, Rude Bakken and Teddy Bakken; sisters, Olga Brustuen and Esther Schwartz; sister-in-laws, Minnie Bakken and Jenny Bakken; brother-in-laws, Warren Lundemo, Nels Brustuen and Edgar Schwartz. She is survived by sister, Bernice Lundemo; nieces, Ardis (Jake) Lillestol, Karen O’Clair, Gail (Keith) Nelson, Monica (Cecil) Brown, Donna (Joe) Schuelke; nephews, Sherman Bakken, Roger Bakken, Bruce (Gloria) Bakken, Glen (Linda) Bakken and Tim (Denise) Bakken. Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, May 21, Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Avenue So. with visitation one hour prior to the service.
