Monica (Reinardy) Snyder

Monica (Reinardy) Snyder, age 75 of Hastings, died peacefully at home following an extended illness on Friday morning, March 16, 2018. Monica Emma, the daughter of Matt and Madeline (Beissel) Reinardy, was born on April 16, 1942, at the family farm in Hampton Township, Dakota County, Minnesota. Following her education at Hastings High School, Monica was united in marriage to Glen D. Snyder on January 13, 1962, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. They were blessed with five sons, and fifty years of marriage prior to his passing on January 4, 2013. Monica was a longtime nurses aide at Regina Medical Center, and treated each and every one of her patients like they were part of her own family. She also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin, feeding and watching the birds, gardening, taking trips to the casino, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen; and by her siblings, Delores Knoll, Arnold, Lee, and Gene Reinardy. Monica is survived by her five sons, Dale Snyder, Kevin Snyder, Ronald Snyder, Rick Snyder, and Bryan Snyder; grandchildren, Katie (Adam) Magnuson, Jason (Jacquline), Chelsea, Bobby, Matthew, Michael, Corey, and Jackson Snyder; great grandchildren, Zoe, Asher, and Zander; siblings, Alois (Marilyn) Reinardy, Lorraine Kimmes, and Rose Huberty; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings, with Father David Hennen officiating. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at church from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of Monica. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings.
