Minnie Louise (Mueller) Pykoski, born July 27, 1923, died on December 21, 2009.Minnie was born and raised on Grey Cloud Island and was the oldest child of Jacob and Estella Mueller. Minnie married Lloyd Pykoski on April 14, 1942. Minnie, with her husband of 67 years, were longtime residents of Denmark Township of Hastings where they crop farmed and dairy farmed. Minnie worked along side Lloyd in all the farming, milking cows, working in the fields doing all the cultivating and combining and even did custom combining for local farmers. Lloyd and Minnie later winter homed for 30 years in Donna, Texas.Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd who passed away on November 18, 2009, and her Granddaughter, Candee Travis Aurich.She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Marvin) Maitrejean of New Richmond, Wisc., Marjorie (Paul) Smith of Edcouch, Texas, Nancy (Bill) Travis of Grantsburg, Wisc., Linda (Bob) Baxter of Hastings and Donna (Bruce) Olsen of Hastings; Grandchildren, Karen Traynor, Darla Baker, Dana Collins, Jobie Bainbridge, Brent and Brad Baxter, Adam and Nathan Olsen; Great Grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Traynor, Kevin Collins, Daniel Uribe, Cody Johnson, Whytnee and Kiya Aurich. Minnie also had several bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Minnie is also survived by brother, Jim Mueller of Inver Grove Heights, MN, and sisters Josephine Oberfoell of Oregon, Louise Oberfoell of North Dakota, Ruth Geise of Oregon and Millie Toohey of Illinois as well as many extended family members, nieces, nephews and friends.A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 8, 2010 at 11:00am at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 9th St. W., Hastings, with a visitation 1 hour prior to service. Interment, Old Cottage Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Minnie's name to a memorial of the donor's choice.The Wise Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
