Tucci Maureen Mary “Mimi” Tucci (Cordrey), age 54, of Burnsville. Born May 14, 1951, passed away peacefully July 21, 2005 surrounded by family & friends after a 7-year battle with breast cancer. Mimi was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy & Milford Cordrey. Survived by husband, Richard; sons, Brian and Jeffrey; sisters, Kathleen Fleischaker (Michael) and Barb Cordrey; aunt, Audrey Brown; sister-in-law, Jackie Lewis (Richard); nieces, Tammy Kohrer (David), Kristi Herro (Paul), Dawn Ebeling (Patrick) and Alison Kemp; great-nieces & nephews, Taylor Brandt, Mackenzie Kohrer, Kiara and Max Herro, Noah Ebeling and Coryn Kemp. She is also survived by friends too numerous to name. Mimi was 54 years old when the breast cancer finally took her breath away. She was a registered nurse for 32 years, starting her career at Methodist Hospital, then working at HCMC as a newborn intensive care nurse. She returned to Methodist and worked as a hospice nurse and supervisor. Mimi was awarded the “Nurse of Excellence Award” by Park Nicollet in 1999. She continued to work until she had no strength left. Mimi was the most caring, courageous and giving person, an inspiration to everyone. In keeping with her spirit, while lying in the hospital, she made her family promise to thank everyone who loved her. Thank you caregivers, friends, homecare nurses and the whole hospice team. Service Monday, 11 AM, Prince of Peace, 13801 Fairview Drive, Burnsville, MN 55306 (952-435-8102). Visitation Sunday, 4:30-7:30 PM, Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, and one hour before service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Methodist Hospital Hospice.
