Milo "Mike" Simacek

Milo "Mike" Simacek, age 82, of Hastings died Friday, June 29, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.Mike was born June 6, 1930 in Montgomery, MN to Mathias J. and Emma (Koldin) Simacek. He graduated from the Montgomery Schools, earned his Bachelor's Degree from Mankato State College and his Master's Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict period. He married Lois (Davis) on December 26, 1955 in Montgomery, MN. He was an industrial arts teacher in the Hastings School system for over 30 years and retired in 1986. He was past commander of the Hastings American Legion Post 47, a member of the Hastings VFW Post 1210, and the DAV.Mike is survived by his wife Lois of Hastings, 4 children Michele (Brad) Lein of Prior Lake, MN; Mark(Julie) Simacek of Hastings, David (Tracy) Simacek of Loganville, WI, and Scott (Keri) Simacek of Princeton, WI; 12 grandchildren Christina, Michael, David, Daniel, Thomas and Emily Lein; Jack and Charlee Simacek; Zachary, Alexandra andDavid II Simacek; and Jenna Simacek; a brother Fritz (Marian) Simacek of Danbury, WI; also by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.A visitation for Mike Simacek will be held Monday, July 2, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in MOTHER SETON HALL, at 2035 Fifteenth Street West, Hastings. A parish vigil service will be Monday at 4:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.Memorials are preferred.
