Michael S. Tweeton

Michael S. Tweeton, age 86 of Apple Valley, passed away on May 3, 2025, at his home watching the birds out his deck window with his youngest son, Mark.

He was born June 16, 1938 in Hibbing, MN, to Irvin and Zola Tweeton (Posey).

Michael served in the Military from 1958-1961 and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, in 1963. He then went on and received his Master’s Degree at University of St. Thomas. After college, Michael spent 30 years in education.

He married Karen Tweeton (Warfield) April 29th, 1966, and went on to have 3 wonderful children.

Michael was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church of Apple Valley, MN, where he loved his church and faith. He enjoyed the church outings, functions, concerts, bible study, and his book club friends and zoom calls. Michael made many great friends at Grace Lutheran Church. He loved watching birds, skiing, taking photos, traveling, reading books, spending time with family, and of course we cannot forget his passion and love for golf.

Michael was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandpa and great-grandpa.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; parents, Irvin and Zola; and brothers, Lester, Timothy, and David Tweeton.

Michael is survived by his children, Paul (Jodi) Tweeton of Big Lake, Mark Tweeton of Apple Valley, and Melissa (Scott) Delzer of Montrose, MN; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Tweeton, Miranda Tweeton, Alex Tweeton, and Adam Delzer; great-grandchildren, Monyka and Myla Tweeton; brother, Jeff Tweeton (Bonnie) of Perham, MN; sister, Norma Vettrus of Eugene, OR; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service at 10am on Thurs., June 26, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church, 7800 150th St. W., Apple Valley. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
