Michael R. Schommer Sr.

Michael R. Schommer Sr., age 46, of Hastings died July 20, 2010 at his home.Michael was born November 29, 1963 in Hastings and was a 1982 graduate of Hastings High School. He was a former member of the National Guard, and was self employed as a painter.He was preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew Justin Schommer. Michael is survived by parents Robert and Sandra Schommer of Hastings; children Michael R. Schommer Jr. of Hastings , Andrea (Heath) Vogt of OK, and Matt Groves of OK; siblings Scott (Julie) Wood of Prescott, Shawn (Ray) Fox of Miesville, Terri Wood of Hastings, Paul (Julie) Schommer of Loudon, TN, and JoAnne Schommer of Hastings; 2 grandchildren Elliot and Olivia Vogt; also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. James Perkl, will be held at 9:30AM Saturday, July 24, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 West Fifteenth St., Hastings. The visitation will be from 4-8PM Friday, July 23, 2010 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings, and one hour prior to the service at church. Pallbearers are Cody Schommer, Jared Fox, Ryan Foster, Jeffrey Kellogg, Kent Wilcox, and Tom Johnson.
