Michael Jonathan Bell “Mikey”

Age 16 of Burnsville. Passed away peacefully on April 12, 2019. Mikey was born in Edina, MN on February 8, 2003.  He lived and went to school in Burnsville, MN.  He attended Gideon Pond Elementary School (Burnsville), Scott Highlands Middle School (Apple Valley), Conrad Ball Middle School (Loveland, CO), Rivers Edge Academy Highschool (St. Paul) and an alternative program.  Mikey had a love for life and compassion for others that extended even to people he didn’t know personally.  He was an All Star running back in football and had many awards in Track and Field.  Mikey loved to laugh and truly enjoyed life to the fullest.  He loved to swim, travel and experience new places, try new restaurants and most of all enjoyed spending time with friends and family making lasting memories together.  His empathy and generosity was felt by many.  Mikey was an example for us all.  He taught us to enjoy every day to the fullest and how to truly love each and every person you encounter in life.  The world was a better place with him here even in the short 16 years he was here.  He touched many many lives.  His faith was strong and he was a true believer.  Mikey, you will be missed forever and you left a handprint on the world that will always remain here.

He is survived by mother, Kelli (Dedrick) Hopkins; father, Sanford Bell; brother, Tommy Hopkins; sisters, Shanice and Shanika Bell; grandparents, Joseph & Susan Hopkins, Sanford and Barbara Scott; aunts, Kristine Hopkins, Latoyria Bell Brown; uncle, Mike Scott; cousins; and many other family and friends.   Funeral service Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 1 PM (visitation 12 PM) at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley. Burial at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the family.
