Melissa Ann Jensen

Melissa A. Jensen, age 57, of Hastings, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, after a year long battle with cancer at Hastings Senior Health & Living, surrounded by her loving family.

Missy was born on February 25, 1969, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Donald and Helen (Schmidt) Humphrey. She was the youngest of five children and grew up in Oakdale, Minnesota. From an early age, Missy was a free spirit, always doing things her own way and bringing fun and energy to those around her. She attended school in Oakdale and graduated from Tartan High School.

Following graduation, Missy entered the workforce and spent much of her career working in childcare and daycare settings. Caring for children came naturally to her, and she genuinely loved the time she spent helping and caring for kids throughout the years.

Faith was an important part of Missy’s life and remained a steady source of strength throughout the years. Her mission work in Africa was especially meaningful to her and reflected her caring heart and desire to help others. The friendships and connections she made there meant a great deal to her and remained close to her heart.

Missy’s family described her as “the fun one,” someone who could bring laughter, joy, and a sense of lightness to those around her. She cared deeply for others and valued the time spent with family and friends.

Missy is survived by her sister, Sue (Kent) Rischette; sister in law, Terri Humphrey; goddaughters, Brynlee and Cassie; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends from both here and in Africa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Helen Humphrey; her sisters, Cheryl and Diane; and her brother, Don.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Calvary Christian Church in Hastings, Minnesota. A time of refreshments and fellowship will follow the service. Missy’s cremated remains will be privately placed by her family at a later date.
