May Wigen Breivik
94, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Friday, April 27, 2012. May was born in Stavanger, Norway, on February 26, 1918, the daughter of Alf Georg Wigen and Christine Broch. She immigrated to the United States in 1948 and married Per Haugstad Breivik. May and Per lived in Bottineau, North Dakota and raised four children. May moved to Minneapolis in 1982 to live near her three daughters. May is preceded in death by her husband, Per, her brother, Finn Wigen, and brother-in-law, Rolf Wathne. She is survived by her children: Margaret Breivik of Minneapolis, MN, Charlotte Breivik of Minneapolis, MN, Dennis Breivik (Bev) of Williston, ND, and Wenche “Venke” Brandennkjell-Hensch (Thom Hensch) of Minneapolis, MN; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Else Wathne, of Bergen, Norway; brother, Thor Wigen (Elise), of Sandnes, Norway, sister-in-law, Helga Wigen of Stavanger, Norway, and many nieces and nephews in Norway. Visitation, 2:00 ? 4:00 pm, Sunday, May 6, at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. S., Mpls. and also one hour before the service Monday at church. Funeral service, 11:00 am, Monday, May 7th at the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church “Mindekirken”, 924 21st St. E., Mpls., www.Mindekirken.org. The graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 9, at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau, ND. www.NeroFuneralHome.net.
