Mary T. Erickson

Mary T. Erickson, an avid volunteer, age 78, of Hastings, passed away surrounded by her family at Regina Medical Center on August 19, 2013. She was born on April 30, 1935 to Francis and Florence Gegen. Mary worked for many years with Hastings Community Education and she loved volunteering time, especially at Dorothy Day in St. Paul. Mary was preceded in death by the father of her children, Harvey Erickson; son, David; parents; and brothers, Michael and Thomas Gegen. She is survived by her children, Dean Erickson; Maureen Erickson; and Dan (Anne) Erickson; grandchildren, Brandon; Chris; Nick; Jeremy; Amanda; Jack; and Emma; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Charles (Sue) Gegen; sister, Kathleen (Mike) Connelly; sisters in law, Janean Gegen and Carol Gegen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Jim Perkl, will be held on Friday (8/23) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St. in Hastings. A Visitation will be held on Thursday (8/22) from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, and 1 hour prior to mass on Friday.
