Mary A. Haas

Mary passed away peacefully at her home in Hastings, Minnesota. She was 89. She was born in Athens, Texas to Bill and Eula Jewell. She graduated from Athens High School, Trinity College in San Antonio, and received her Masters Degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. She married Robert Haas on August 29, 1958. They enjoyed 61 wonderful years together until Bob's death in 2020.

Mary was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Joliet, Illinois, and more recently, Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hastings Minnesota.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Lin) Warren and son, Bill (Michele) Haas; two grandsons, Luke Warren (Sarah Tengblad) and Matt (Tessa) Warren; granddaughter, Nicole Haas; great-granddaughters, Olivia Warren and Hattie Warren. She is also survived by Raymond (Jeanneen) Jewell, Elmer (Virginia) Jewell, and Rena (Art) Bumgardner and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, William Henry.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 24 at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel (Hastings, Minnesota). Visitation is from 10:00 - 11:00 am. The service will commence at 11:00, with a luncheon to follow.
