Marlene C. Bradt

Marlene C. Bradt, age 78 of Lady Lake, Florida, and formerly of Hastings, died peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2017, in Florida. Marlene Catherine, the daughter of Robert and Catherine (Sherry) Wermlund, was born on August 15, 1938, in St. Paul. She attended Hastings High School and graduated with the class of 1956. Following her education, Marlene was united in marriage to Norbert Doffing and they were blessed with three children, Denise, Mark, and Kevin prior to being divorced. She later married Arnie Bradt on November 28, 1977 and he preceded her in death. Marlene was a longtime administrative assistant, first for American Hoist and later for Dakota County. After her retirement, she and Arnie moved to the Villages of Lady Lake, Florida. She was an avid golfer and a connoisseur of fine wines. She also enjoyed her pool time and horseback riding and bowling in her younger years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joanie Wermlund; and by her granddaughter, Amber Pugh. Marlene is survived by her children, Denise (Ray) Viall, Mark (Drea) Doffing and Kevin (Terry) Doffing; her grandchildren, April (John) Jacobson, Jesse (Sheri) Viall, Nick Doffing, Alyssa Doffing, Jamie Appert, and Jacque (Corey) Meier; her 14 great grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings, with Father David Hennen officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Private family interment will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Cemetery in Hastings, MN.
