Marilyn L. Steinke

Marilyn L. Steinke, age 86, of Hastings, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Regina Assisted Living, in Hastings, Minnesota. Marilyn Loleta Mindrum was born on January 28, 1932, in Rushford, MN to Arnold M. and Viola E. (Paulson) Mindrum. She grew up in the area and was a 1949 graduate of Winona High School. She married Herbert Steinke on December 30, 1950, in St. Paul. She was a homemaker and after her family was grown she worked as a LPN for a number of years. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter in infancy, a sister Jeanie , a brother Robert, and 3 grandchildren Bill Jr., Andrew and Sam. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband Herbert, her children Herbert Jr. (Judy), Ed (Sheila), Richard (Vicki), William (Patti), Kathy Kettwig (Randy), Bruce, Kenneth and Dennis; 24 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; her siblings Joann (Roman), Joyce (Joe), Ginger (Mick), Gerald (Frieda), and Donald (Becky); also by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory, 201 7th Street East, Hastings, MN., and will continue Wednesday 1 hour prior to the funeral at church. The Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Doug Duin, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 400 West 9th Street, Hastings. Interment will be Thursday at the Highland Prairie Cemetery in Rushford, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Allina Hospice, or Regina Assisted Living Pauline Memory Care. Arrangements are being handled by Caturia, Smidt and Starkson Funeral Home and Crematory of Hastings.
