Marian I. Anderson

Marian I. Anderson, age 90, of Hastings, died peacefully on October 30, 2014 following an extended illness. Marian, the daughter of Benjamin and Regina (Hildebrandt) Rubie, was born on March 4, 1924 in New Ulm, MN. She attended school in New Ulm and graduated with the class of 1942. On January 28, 1956 Marian was united in marriage to Ronald M. Anderson in New Ulm. They moved to Hastings where she worked in the office at Smead Manufacturing until her retirement. Ronald preceded her in death in 1985. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son Mark; and by her siblings Gloria Rubie, Mabel (Darwin) Siebert and James Rubie. She is survived by her son, Paul (Cathy) Anderson of Farmington; daughter-in-law Lori Faymoville of Baldwin, WI; her twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; her sister-in-law Georgine Rubie; and by many other relatives and friends. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Father Cole Kracke, will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 Fifteenth St. West, in Hastings. Interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 Seventh St. East; Hastings on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday morning.
