Marian D. Anderson

Marian D. Anderson, nee Naslund, age 78 of Hastings was born March 23, 1935 in Barnum, MN and died June 19, 2013 in Hastings, MN at Regina Hospital. She graduated from Barnum High School in 1953 and from Nurses Training at St. Luke�s Hospital, Duluth, MN in 1956. Marian worked as an RN in Lincoln, NE, Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, and retired from Children�s Hospital in St. Paul, where she worked in the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit), after a 20 year career from 1977 to 1997. Survived by her husband Curtis Anderson, married Feb. 18, 1957 in Sloan, IA; children Greg (Sandra) Anderson of Monticello, MN; Brian Anderson of Kettle River, MN; and Cathy (Bud) Hendriks of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Nick Andersonof Hartford, VT; Laurel Anderson of Monticello, MN; Henry Anderson of Portland, OR; great-grandchild Lilah Anderson of Monticello, MN; sister Phyllis Brende of Lake City, MN;also many nieces nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents Fritz (Edythe) Naslund son Gary Wayne Anderson. Special thank you to Dr. McKenzie at Allina and to all of the staff at Regina Hospital, Hastings. Memorial service 11 am Saturday June 29, 2013 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home 201 E. 7th St. Hastings, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Sandy Lake Cemetery, Sandy Lake, MN at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the Hastings Family Service.
