Marguerite L. Krier

Marguerite L. Krier, age 89 of Hastings and formerly Cottage Grove, died peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Augustana Heath Care of Hastings. Marguerite L., the daughter of Joseph and Lorana (Riel) Peloquin was born on October 10, 1926 in St. Paul. Following her graduation from Harding High School in St. Paul, Marguerite was united in marriage to Daniel A. Krier on December 15, 1951 in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. He recently preceded her in death on November 18, 2015.She and Daniel owned and operated Welch Creamery Antiques for many years. She also worked at Ideal Security Hardware in St. Paul and later retired in 1988. Marguerite loved to cook and spending time with her family. Marguerite is survived by her children, Paulette (Joe) Fogarty of Stillwater, Jeffrey Krier of St. Paul and Veronica "Nikki" (Gary) Haas of Hastings; 12 grandchildren Gregory (Marnie) Fogarty, Andrew (Kate) Haas, Angela Weiland-Haas, Jennifer Krier, Jamie Krier, Jeremy Krier, Alvis Krier, Katherine Krier, Elizabeth Krier, Kelsie Krier, Daniel Krier and Josephina Krier; also by several great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and 6 honorary grandchildren, Andrew (Kassie) NG, Paige NG, Jared NG, Ashleigh (Derek) Maxson, Courtney Davis and Melonie Davis; 1 brother Joseph (Barbara) Peloquin of Fergus Falls,MN and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East 7th Street, Hastings, with Gordon Gathright officiating. Visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Pine Island Cemetery, Pine Island, MN. Pallbearers are Gregory Fogarty, Andrew Haas, Jamie Krier, Daniel Krier, Nicholas Weiland, Mathias Weiland, Griffin Haas and Alvis Krier; honorary pallbearers are Marguerite's granddaughters.
