Margaret (Marlene) Tix

Margaret "Marlene" Tix, age 76, of Hastings, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Regina Medical Center in Hastings. Margaret Marlene, the daughter of Carl and Gertrude (Matz) Loesch, was born on October 21, 1938 in Hastings. She graduated from Hastings High School and on February 11, 1956, Marlene was united in marriage to James P. Tix at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. Marlene was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed golfing, traveling, shopping, competition shooting with Jim, and volunteering at various places throughout town, especially at the Regina Medical Center Auxiliary where she served as President. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James on December 22, 2007. She is survived by her five children, Debby Tix of Hastings, Pam (Jeff) Higgins of Maple Grove, Nancy (Paul) Alitz of Hastings, Terry Tix of Hastings, and Kathy (Dave) Anderson of Hastings; her grandchildren, Jeremy Kittleson, Chad Johnson, Jessica Hartmann, Katie McAlpin, Kellie Dahl, Ashley Alitz, and Emily Alitz; her 8 great grandchildren and soon to be 9 th ; her siblings, Melvin (Mary) Loesch, Roger (Donna) Loesch, Elaine Loesch, Ron (Diane) Loesch, Don (Cindy) Loesch, and Tom (Jeanne) Loesch; her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. David Hennen will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. Fifteenth St., Hastings. Private interment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 201 East Seventh St., Hastings and one hour prior to Mass at church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Hospital Foundation Board, Allina 1st Street Clinic Oncology Department, both in Hastings or to donors choice in memory of Marlene.
