Margaret M. Murphy

Margaret Mary Murphy, age 92, of Hastings, passed away October 30, 2021. She was born, the oldest of 13 children, to Vincent and Catherine (Siebenaler) Teuber at home in Douglas Township on June 9, 1929. As a young woman, Margaret worked at the Home Cafe in Cannon Falls. When her children were young she did seamstress work from home. She spent the majority of working life at Smead Manufacturing in Hastings. When she retired from Smeads, she went to work at Pizza Hut where she worked until she was 80 years old. Margaret had a volunteers heart. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Catholic Aid Association. She loved to serve at Sharing and Caring Hands and for funerals with the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Funeral Lunch Team. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Murphy; children, Robert, Kathy and Mark; and her siblings, Rita Gerten, Charles Teuber, Sr. Vincent Marie Teuber. Margaret is survived by her children, Mary (Vince) Pommerening, Sue (Patrick) Kuplic and Jim Murphy; grandchildren, Cassie (Anthony) Verch, Briana Seelen, Nicole (Adam) Lucking, Anna Kuplic (Scott Wittl); Amy (Tyler) Hawkins and Josh Kuplic (Liz Nemo); great grandchildren, Zach Wittl, Brody Verch, Louie Seelen, Nate Wittl, Gracey Wittl, Evelyn Verch, Mikey Kuplic, Charlotte Kuplic and Nora Lucking; siblings Theresa (Jim) Downey, Lawrence (Lois) Teuber, Vincent (Mary) Teuber, Herman (Joan) Teuber, Al (Donna) Teuber, Fran (Laura) Teuber, Vic (Mary Ann) Teuber, Mary (Larry) Lee, Linda (Jim) Mistysyn; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th St. W. in Hastings. A visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at church. Interment, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
