Margaret Ann Thiel

Margaret Ann (Murphy, Gegen) Thiel, age 82, of Hastings, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2018 surrounded by love and care. Margaret lived a caring life. She loved serving others and found joy working at Regina Senior Living. She later found joy and friendship living at Regina for her last 9 years. Margaret was an avid hiker. She enjoyed daily walks around the community that she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Paul Murphy; brothers, Bill Murphy and Charley (Vivian) Murphy; second husband, Wayne C. Thiel; and her dear sister-in-law, Mary Erickson. She will be dearly missed by her children, Chuck Gegen, Patricia Gegen, Barbara (James) Rohde, Theresa Gegen (Doug Dow), and Joseph Gegen; grandchildren, Tim Bernard, Caleb Rohde, and Jacob Rohde; her brother, Johnny (Mary Kay); her niece, Maureen Erickson; and her first husband, Charles (Sue) Gegen, and many other loving relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held on Friday (8/24) at 9:30 a.m. at the Regina Memorial Chapel, 1175 Nininger Road, Hastings. A celebration reception will follow in the River Room. All are welcome. Memorials preferred to Regina Memory Care Activities (Dawn Trombley is the Activities Director). Wise Family Funeral & Cremation Services is serving the family.
