Marcella F. Crear

Marcella F. Crear, age 89 of Hastings, died peacefully on Friday morning, January 19, 2018, at Woodlyn Heights Healthcare Center in Inver Grove Heights. Marcella, the daughter of Robert and Lulla (Hansen) Yde, was born on January 1, 1929, near Luck, Wisconsin. Marcella was a longtime employee at Sears in the mail order department. She enjoyed her lunches with Red Hats, playing bingo and cards, cross-stitching, and collecting various items. She was also a dedicated member of Resurrection United Methodist Church in Hastings. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Harvey, Duane (Skip), and Richard Yde; son: Lawrence Alan Crear; and by her sister-in-law: Virginia Yde. Marcella is survived by her children: Timothy (Dorothy) Crear, Richard (Kristy) Crear, and Catherine (Ed) Sprout; grandchildren: Diana Crear, Tammie Crear, Lisa Crear, Laura Bryant (Crear), and Zach (Stacy) Olson; great grandchildren: Lilly and Hunter Bryant, Daryl Jr. (DJ) Davis, and Wesley Olson; brothers: Robert (Barbara) Yde, and Floyd "Louie" (Brenda) Yde; sisters-in-law: Janet Yde, and Mary Jean Yde; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018, at Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings, with Gordon Gathright officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings.
