Mabel M. Moes

Mabel Moes, age 94 of Hastings, died peacefully at home on Thursday afternoon, March 11, 2021. Mabel Margaret, the daughter of John and Margaret (Girgen) Holzmer, was born on October 10, 1926, in Mora, Minnesota. On August 19, 1947, Mabel was united in marriage to Nicholas P. Moes at the former St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother who enjoyed embroidery and sewing in her free time. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nicholas; son-in-law, Ron Kittelson; and by her siblings. Mabel is survived by her children, John (Joan) Moes, Jim (Ruth) Moes, Linda (Tony) Rubba, Marsha Kittleson, Mary (Tom) Bartholomew, Darlene (Shiraz) Hyder, and Bob (Mary) Moes; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends. Private family graveside services will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
