Lyle F. Mccarty

Lyle Frederick McCarty received his unfading crown of glory on April 17, 2019.   He was born in Vail Township, Redwood County, MN on September 18, 1934 to Ibar and Cecelia (Gores) McCarty and grew up on the family farm.  Lyle married Carol Ann Kammerer on March 21, 1959 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Wabasso, MN.  Their marriage was blessed with four children: Tim, Kelli, Bethany and Scott.  Lyle attended the University of Minnesota and spent his entire career in accounting, retiring at the age of 62 as CFO of TISCO.

Lyle’s Christian faith was evident in all aspects of his life.  While he was an avid reader and could converse with anyone on just about any subject, he imparted wisdom primarily by example.  This often took the form of keeping calm in the midst of a crisis or any other situation.  Lyle was usually the calmest person in the room.  In his spare time, when he wasn’t reading, Lyle enjoyed wood working, building models, making stained glass windows and smoking his pipe.  He was very devoted to his wife, children and church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: Frank, Jim, Tom, and Vince; sister, Mary and brothers-in-law, Wayne and Ken Kammerer.

Surviving him are wife, Carol; son, Tim and wife, Heather of Kingfisher, OK; daughter, Kelli Bartz and husband, Dean of Cologne, MN; daughter, Beth Ekblad and husband, Dan of Apple Valley, MN; son, Scott and wife, Jenny of Victoria, MN; grandchildren: Nathan (Sara) Black, Joe (Rachel) McCarty, Jessie Black, Lauren (Wil) Treftz, Liz (Michael) Pendergraft, Aubrey (fiancé Andrew) Ekblad, Anders (Liz) Ekblad, and Luke, Ethan and Elsa McCarty; great-grandchildren: Joseph and Daniel McCarty, Grace and Evelyn Pendergraft, Millie Treftz and Johannes Ekblad.

A visitation will be held 5-7 PM, Tuesday, April 23^rd 2019 at Henry W Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave. Apple Valley and one hour before the service at church on Wednesday.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Heritage Lutheran Church, 13401 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd., Apple Valley.

Memorials will be used to help complete the set of stained-glass windows Lyle was making for the church.
