Luella Jane Raway, age 87 of St. Paul, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Luella Jane, the daughter of Louis and Barbara (Eckart) Raway, was born August 21, 1928 in Douglas Township, Dakota County, MN. She was the executive secretary for the Adjudent General for the MN National Guard prior to her retirement. Luella was an active member of the Service Club for the handicapped. She loved playing Bingo, going out to eat and bird watching. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Francis (Florence) Raway, an infant brother and a nephew, Lyle Raway. Luella is survived by her two sisters, Sister Monica Raway OSB of St. Paul and Josephine Kirch of Arden Hills; also her nieces and nephews, Sharon (Gary) Illa, Robert (Jeanne) Raway, William (Cheryl) Raway, Charles (Carol) Raway, Susan Raway, Barbara (Dennis) Schaack and Theresa (William) King. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at Presentation Catholic Church, 1725 Kennard Street, Maplewood, MN 55109, with Fr. Benny Mekkatt officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the Mass. A reception will follow after the service at church. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Miesville, MN.
