Lucy Ashbaucher

Lucy Elizabeth Ashbaucher, age 100, of Hastings, passed away July 30, 2018. She was born in Douglas Township on Oct. 8, 1917, to Mathias and Anna (Siebenaler) Reinardy. Attended St. Mary's School in New Trier. Lucy married Claude Ashbaucher on Feb. 4, 1961, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Hastings. She was a longtime housekeeper for the Otto family and later worked at the Otto Jewelry Store in Hastings. She then went to work at the Emporium Department Store in St. Paul where she met Claude. She was preceded in death by husband, Claude; sisters, Kathryn Thurmes, Sue Thurmes, and Dora Kasel; brothers, Joe, Math, Nick, Adolph, and John Reinardy; and many nieces and nephews. Lucy is survived by many nieces and nephews including her Godchildren, Leo Reinardy, Jim Reinardy, Judy Zweber, Connie Thurmes, Gloria Duffing, and Pat Dohmen, and special friends, Char Sieben and Ann Voelker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday (8/3) at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier. A visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at church. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery in New Trier.
