Louis M. "Lou" Wessinger

November 14, 1947 — June 22, 2018

Louis M. "Lou" Wessinger, age 70 of Northfield, died suddenly but peacefully at home on Friday evening, June 22, 2018. Louis Marvin, the son of William and Byrl (Frerking) Wessinger, was born on November 14, 1947, in St. Paul. Lou graduated with the Hastings High School Class of 1966, and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Following his Honorable Discharge, Lou lived in Texas for a short while and returned to Hastings. In 1985, Lou was united in marriage to Mary Costello in Eagan. He worked in the shipping department at API in Roseville for a number of years, and also at Factory Motor Parts in Eagan before retiring. Lou loved spending time with his grandchildren, and watching movies. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his sister, Madelyn Fritz. Lou is survived by his wife, Mary Wessinger; son, Gabriel M. Wessinger; grandchildren, Vivian and Nico; brother, William (Marilyn) Wessinger; and by many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Arrangements are being completed by Caturia, Smidt Starkson Funeral Home Crematory of Hastings.
