Lorraine B. Sontag, 91, formerly of Hastings passed away at her home on Little Hanging Horn Lake in Barnum, Minnesota on January 31, 2010. She was born on December 7, 1918 to Jesse and Lillian Amanda Wildes. She grew up and graduated from high school in Hastings and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hastings. Lorraine worked with her husband Ed at Sontag Insurance and also was a homemaker. She enjoyed sports and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. She liked to garden, birdwatch, fish, go to the cabin in Barnum, spend time with her family, and go to lunch with her sisters. She is survived by daughter Robin and her husband Lou Paulson, honorary daughters and sons Linda and Bill Deitner, Cindy and Steve Mollick, and Mark Werth, step-daughter Dona Sontag Bradt and family, granddaughter Amber (Troy Stoddard) Paulson, godson Dwight (Renee) Keene, two sisters Evy Matsch and her husband Loran, and Lois Keene and her husband Harry, brother-in-law John Werth, many nieces and nephews, also her best friends, her dogs Cinder, Bailey, Hippo, Ebony, and Nordy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin, her sisters Ruby (Peter) Haas, Helen Werth, Margie (Jack, Bob) Coonrod Husting, infant sister Marion, brother Bernard (Monica) Wildes, nephew Scott Keene, and niece Mary Matsch Brown. Her celebration of life service will be held at River of Life Church, 800 Vermillion Street, Hastings at 2pm on Thursday, February 4, 2010, with a visitation held one hour before the service. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.
