Lorraine R. Rother

Lorraine (Gerster) Rother, age 90, of Hastings died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Regina Assisted Living. Lorraine was born September 15, 1919 in Hampton to Edward and Dorothy (Peine) Gerster. She was united in marriage to Edwin Rother on May 28, 1940 in Hampton. Lorraine was a homemaker and also worked with her husband and sons at Rother Meats. She was fun loving and enjoyed her grandchildren, playing cards,and socializing. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Al Gerster; and sister Olivia Lorentz. Lorraine is survived by her children Roger (Kathy) Rother of Hastings, Karon (Patrick) Foss of Lindstrom, and Wayne (Beverly) Rother of Hastings; grandchildren Cathy, Joe, John, Cristen, and Jennifer; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters Bernice Molitor of Hastings, Dorothy Werner of Hastings, Alvera Niebur of Miesville, and Kathleen Leifeld of Vermillion; sister-in-law Bonnie Gerster of Hampton; alsomany nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. James Perkl, will be held at 11AM Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. Fifteenth Street, Hastings. The visitation will be from 4-7PM Monday, August 30, 2010 at church in Mother Seton Hall, and one hour prior to the Tuesday service. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandchildren Cathy Brown, Joseph Foss, John Foss, Cristen Rother, and Jennifer Rother.
