Lorraine M. Brown

Lorraine M. Brown, age 85 of Cottage Grove, died Sunday, August 14, 2016 at United Hospital in St. Paul. Lorraine May, the daughter of Harvey and Irene (Thimijan) Dankers, was born on May 20, 1931 in Lake City, Minnesota. Sheattended Goodhue High School and continued her education at the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture. On September 23, 1950, she was united in marriage to Glen L. Brown at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Goodhue. Lorraine was an owner and realtor at Accent Realty in Hastings for many years and also enjoyed being a Home Health Aide. She was a longtime member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church of Hastings and the Cottage Grove VFW Auxiliary #8752. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, LaVerne Dankers; her infant brother, Louis Dankers; and by her husband, Glen on September 3, 2013. Lorraine is survived by her children, Dolores (Dave) Pemble of Hastings, Gary (Kriste Lewis) Brown of Ellsworth, WI, and Janet (John) Bremer of Hastings; her grandchildren, Dawn Pemble, Dena (Aaren) Mathison, Darcy Pemble, Dara Pemble, Nikki (Robbie) Barton, Andy Brown, Sara Bremer, Michael Bremer, Katie Brown and Joey Lewis; her great grandchildren, Porter and Maverick Mathison; her brother, Glen Dankers; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016 at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Hastings, with Reverend Jason Thiel officiating. Interment will follow at Cottage Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove. Visitation will be held at church for one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Pallbearers are Michael Bremer, Andy Brown, Aaren Mathison, Robbie Barton, Bruce Dankers, Steve Dankers and Roger Dankers.Arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home Cremation Services in Hastings.
