Lonnie M. Nygren

Lonnie M. Nygren, age 48 of Hastings and formerly Stillwater, died Saturday afternoon, December 4, 2021. Lonnie Mathew, the son Robert and Roxanne (LaBarre) Nygren was born on August 27, 1973, in Stillwater. Following his graduation from Stillwater High School, he followed his life-long passion of working on engines. His love for riding dirt bikes, four wheelers, and snowmobiles, along with a passion for cars, led him to be a well known mechanic and engine enthusiast. Lonnie also enjoyed working at Twin City Container in Cannon Falls as well. He was a diehard Wild Fan and often found time to watch a football game or two, Nascar and Motor Cross racing. Lonnie's big heart always led him to helping so many others that were in need. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his children. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother Kenny Nygren. Lonnie is survived by his children, Connor, Haley, and Blake; stepchildren, Tyler Callahan, Josh Callahan, and Tyson Hallas; significant other, Maranda Runk and her daughters, Justine and Lexi; the mother of his children, Shannon Callahan (Mike Cover); brothers and sisters; and by many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Lonnie's Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Gordon Gathright officiating. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the funeral home. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
