Lois "Pat" Wagner (Karnick)

Lois "Pat" Wagner (Karnick), age 84, of Hastings, passed away December 22, 2019 at the Pauline Unit of Regina Memory Care in Hastings Pat was born in Hastings on January 18, 1935 to Frank and Lois (Harris) Karnick. She married Larry Wagner on May 12, 1956 in Pensacola, Florida. Pat graduated from Hastings High School in 1953 and then attended two years of college at St. Cloud Teachers College. She later graduated from UW River Falls and taught for one year in Vermillion before working for many years as a substitute teacher in Hastings. In her later years, Pat was a passionate collector and dealer of antiques and other treasures. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Francis Karnick. Pat is survived by her husband of 63 years, Larry; children Cindy Wagner (Spencer Johnson), Sue Wagner (Steve Gomez), Steve Wagner (Kim Hoelmenn), and Scott Wagner; grandchildren Ben (Dawnielle) Hanson, Blake (Cathy) Hanson, Michaela (Matthew) Doering, Damien Gomez, and Krista Gomez; great grandchildren Jonathan, Emily, Andrea, Claira, Isaac, Lachlan, Rhyden, and a baby girl due in January; brother David (Colleen) Karnick; sister-in-law Charol Karnick; and many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 27 at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St., Hastings and one hour prior to mass at church on Friday. Interment will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation to the compassionate caregivers at Regina Memory Care and Intrepid Hospice.
