Lois Elaine Keene (Wildes), age 93 of Hastings, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. Lois was born in Hastings, Minnesota on April 12, 1926. She was one of eight children to Jesse and Lillian Wildes (Carlson). She graduated from Hastings High School. She was introduced to Harry Keene through his sister, Oralee. They were married on March 24, 1948 at First Baptist Church. Lois was a dedicated member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She worked at the Regina Hospital gift shop and was very active in the Regina Auxiliary. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. Outside of work and volunteering, she loved her ceramics group and their lunch get togethers. Whenever she had the chance, she enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Lois was a light in everyone's life with her positive and good personality. Preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Lillian Wildes; her husband, Harry Keene; her son, Scott Keene; her sisters, Ruby (Peter) Haas, Lorraine (Edwin) Sontag, Evy (Loran) Matsch, Helen Werth, Margie (Jack, Bob) Coonrod Husting, and infant sister Marion Wildes; her sister-in-law, Gayle (Glenn) Wolfe; her brother, Bernard (Monica) Wildes; and brother-in-law, Tom (Kaye) Keene. She will be missed by her sons, Dwight (Renee) Keene of Hastings and Kevin Keene of Hastings; her grandchildren, Jesse (Nichole) Keene of Hastings, Abby (Brian) Meyers of Hastings, and Luke (Anne) Keene of Woodbury; her great-grandchildren, Zach Keene, Reese Keene, Rosie Keene, and Harry Keene; brother-in-law, John Werth; sister-in-laws, Oralee (the late Jim) McNamara, Shirley (the late Buck) Keene, Marlyn (the late Bob) Duffy, Barbara (Chuck) Prokosch; her honorary daughter, Robin (Lou) Paulson; many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 615 Vermillion Street, Hastings. The family invites their friends to join them for a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings.
