Lloyd J. Pykoski

Lloyd Joseph Pykoski, born February 14, 1923, died on November 18, 2009. Lloyd was a long time resident of Denmark Township in Hastings. Lloyd was born to Benedict and Mary Pykoski. He grew up in St. Paul Park/Grey Cloud Island area. Lloyd married Minnie Louise Mueller on April 14, 1942. Shortly thereafter they moved to Denmark Township where they crop farmed and had a dairy farm. Lloyd served with the Minnesota Defense Force during WWII. He worked at Cudhay's Packing and later for various trucking companies as a Teamster Member. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Candee Travis Aurich. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Minnie; daughters, Barbara (Marvin) Maitrejean of New Richmond, WI, Marjorie (Paul) Smith of Edcouch, TX, Nancy (Bill) Travis of Grantsburg, WI, Linda (Bob) Baxter of Hastings, and Donna (Bruce) Olsen of Hastings; grandchildren, Karen Traynor, Darla Baker, Dana Collins, Jobie Bainbridge, Brent and Brad Baxter, Adam and Nathan Olsen; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Traynor, Kevin Collins, Daniel Uribe, Cody Johnson, Whytnee and Kiya Aurich. Lloyd also had several bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lloyd is also survived by his brother Jerome Pykoski and his sister Delorse (Dwain) Marshall, both of Hastings, as well as many extended family members, nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11:00am at Our Saviour's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 9th St. W., Hastings, with a visitation 1 hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, One Intrepid Square, West 46th Street & 12th Avenue, New York, NY 10036.
