Llewellyn E. "Lew" Williams Jr.

Llewellyn (Lew) Williams, age 64 of Welch, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 26, 2021. Llewellyn Everett, the son of Llewellyn E. Sr. and Rosalie (Murphy) Williams, was born on February 11, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from Tripoli Community High School with the class of 1976. On April 22, 1978, he was united in marriage to Sheryl Drape. Lew was employed at Sara Lee in New Hampton, Iowa, until later moving to Minnesota. After graduating from Minneapolis Drafting School, Lew worked for several years as a mechanical designer and owned several patents. In recent years he operated a furniture restoration business and started an apple orchard on his farm. Lew enjoyed fishing, nature, listening to country music, and drawing and painting. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalie; sister, Pam Williams; and by his brother, Daryle Williams. Lew is survived by his wife, Sheryl; children, Amber (Regin) Roiger and Landon (Mandy) Williams; four cherished grandchildren, Madison Duffy, Jenna Duffy, Lena Williams, and Lachlan Williams; father, Llewellyn Williams Sr., sisters, Wanda (Vern) Tiedt and Victoria (Ernie) Hesse; and by many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Lew's Life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., and to a reception immediately following the service, all at the funeral home on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Walk to End Alzheimers - Red Wing (Team McQ) or to the American Heart Association in memory of Lew. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
